Reilly Brennan lives in San Francisco but will always be a Detroiter at heart. He is the Executive Director of the Revs Automotive Research Program at Stanford and teaches a class on heroes and Dale Earnhardt at the Stanford d.school. He created a car photo thingy called Carmagnum.
We cut out to Fort Funston today, aka dog paradise, to let Walter run wild and he barked at a few hang gliders at the port and in the air. Back in the parking lot I loved the various DIY roof racks and contraptions of the hardcore glider dudes. Hang gliders are only about 75 lbs but are almost 20 feet long, so they require a bit of balancing. Some go for a high end rack, others construct a front post out of PVC pipe, while the quickest and dirtiest mod seems to be an extension ladder acting as a de-facto rack.
